Support for Care Leavers

The variety of accommodation, support and move-on services means that we have the advantage of being able to provide follow-up support for our young people. Several of our young people have come to us at age 16 and 17 and have moved onto our step-down accommodation and then eventually to their own independent accommodation once we have successfully supported them into independence.

Step down and visiting support

Many young people in our accommodation-based services move on to our step-down or visiting support services. These are often nearby or in the same local area.

Here young people who are ready to become more independent live in either stand alone flats, shared flats or in shared houses and receive support from our visiting teams. These services provide a valuable stepping stone for young people moving into independent living.

Floating support

We support young people with floating support services who may be living across a variety of different settings which incudes those that have secured their own accomodation or they might be living with friends, relatives or in shared accommodation. For many, this may be the first time they will have lived independently.

We provide practical support around managing and maintaining a home and support them to feel safe, secure and confident.
